The Health and Well-Being Fund is used for all types of care for our residents, including expenses that support the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our refugee residents as they rebuild their lives.
These include costs such as:
- Health care & Dental care
- Vision care and eyeglasses
- Mental Health care
- Prescriptions and over-the-counter medications
- Physiotherapy, chiropractic, and related care
- Health and hygiene
- Basic nutrition and exercise information
- First aid
- Move-Out Kits for their first home that contains all the basics like cleaning supplies, lightbulbs, first aid kit, and so much more!
- Lots of coaching to understand the basics of good heath and stable well-being.
- + other essential expenses deemed appropriate that support a resident’s overall well-being.
In a nutshell, the Health & Well-Being Fund is used for discretionary expenditures that directly support residents’ physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being, and allows Carty House to be able to respond quickly to individual needs — ensuring no woman goes without the care or support she needs to thrive.
