April 2026

Carty House provides transitional housing and supports for refugee women as they begin rebuilding their lives in Canada.

One of our greatest joys is celebrating the moment a resident moves into her very first home after Carty House. It’s a milestone filled with hope, independence — and new beginnings.

But as we all know, setting up a home is expensive.

That’s why every woman leaving Carty House receives a Move Out Kit — thoughtfully prepared with essential household items to help her settle in with dignity and confidence.

In honour of Refugee Rights Day on April 4, we are raising funds throughout April 2026 to prepare more Move Out Kits for the women we serve.

You can sponsor one bundle of essentials — or even sponsor an entire kit.

The Carty House Health and Well-Being Fund will administer this initiative.

Our goal is to fund 10 Move Out Kits. Any funds raised beyond this amount will support additional kits or other health and well-being needs of our residents.

Due to limited storage space, we are unable to accept physical donations. Kits are assembled as needed throughout the year.

Thank you for helping a refugee woman turn the key to her first home with confidence and care.
